In November 2019, BYD Co. Ltd. (BYD) and Toyota Motor Corporation signed a cooperation agreement to establish a 50-50 joint venture company to conduct electric vehicle research and development. Toyota Electric Vehicle Technology
Now that the new company has been formally established and registered, it is expected to start operations in May this year. The name of the new company established by the joint venture is: BYD TOYOTA EV TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., Its headquarters is located in Shenzhen, with Hirohisa Kishi as the chairman of Toyota, and Zhao Binggen of BYD As general manager.
