The 86/BRZ race car is running on the track, whether it is a turbo modified or a naturally aspirated modified car, which also makes the car palace car industry accumulate a lot of experience in the modification of these two cars.

And since the new BRZ has been launched, Jimmy, the head of the car palace car industry, also purchased this BRZ for the first time to explore, and at the same time, it was transformed in the direction of the competition factory car. According to him, the new BRZ is being replaced. After the FA24D engine with a larger displacement, it has improved a lot of the low-speed torque problem of the old FA20D. Although it is still not comparable to the turbo, he believes that when the computer ECU has not yet been cracked, the NA route should be used to strengthen it. , such as the modification of the intake and exhaust system, combined with the lightweight of the vehicle and the strengthening of the chassis, there should be a chance to compete with the fast cars of the Honda camp such as the Honda S2000 or Civic FD2, so this car was released on 6/24-6/26 In the second leg of the Lihpao STS Super Touring Car Race, it will be put into actual combat in the S2000 group.

After replacing the FA24D engine with a larger displacement, the new BRZ has improved a lot of the problem of insufficient low-speed torque of the old FA20D.

In the power part of this car, only the titanium alloy mid-tail exhaust pipe with valve has been replaced. According to Jimmy, in addition to the second catalyst, an OPF is added to the mid-section exhaust pipe of the new BRZ. The carbon particle filter and exhaust temperature sensor have a great impact on the exhaust efficiency. Therefore, after replacing the full straight pipe, the output smoothness of the engine at high speed is quite impressed, and the fault light has not yet appeared. For the cooling system, a BRZ/86 special oil cooler set with an oil adapter has been installed, and Koyorad has added a large aluminum water tank to meet the requirements of the competition.

Since the competition is currently in a state of natural air intake, it is essential to reduce the weight of the car body. For this reason, we can see that many parts in the car have been removed, including the carpet, rear baffle, rear seat and luggage compartment floor, etc. Two racing seats are installed on the front seat, so except for the front seat, almost all the rear of the B-pillar is completely removed, and the whole car roll cage is installed according to the needs of the event, and the author also slightly observed the body structure of the new BRZ, and found that although The space between the rear seat and the luggage compartment adopts an open design. There is no X-shaped steel plate structure between the compartments. However, starting from the rear wheel arch, to the top of the rear shock absorber tower, the bottom of the rear baffle and the top of the fuel tank, the entire compartment and the luggage compartment are connected. Around the opening of the car body, the original factory has carried out sheet metal reinforcement, and the depth of the spare tire area is relatively shallow, which is helpful for the anti-distortion strength of the car body, which can reduce the deformation of the car body during intense driving. , which makes the torsional rigidity of the new BRZ body 50% higher than that of the old model. Of course, it would be better if it could be strengthened through the roll cage.
