The new compact SUV from Alfa Romeo finally has a name: Alfa Romeo Milano. The Milano is included in the model range below the Tonale and the Italians hope for a resounding sales success.
Everyone is through Alfa Romeo led on the wrong track. The Italians divided the coordinates of the Brenner Pass on December 6 X, which made people assume that the upcoming model would be called Brennero. But no: from one press release Alfa Romeo now appears that they have chosen the model name Milano. A tribute to the city where Alfa Romeo was founded in 1910.

Technically speaking, the Milano is the successor to the Alfa Romeo MiTo, the compact hatchback that was in production from 2008 to 2019. With the Milano, the brand is once again entering the popular B-segment. Alfa Romeo calls the Milano its first Sport Urban Vehicle (instead of Sport Utility Vehicle). The compact SUV is clearly positioned under the Alfa Romeo Tonale and has the potential to put the brand back on the map.
The Milano will be officially unveiled in April 2024 and will in any case be available as a mild-hybrid and with a fully electric powertrain. That makes this the very first EV from Alfa. The Milano will be approximately 4.1 meters long and 1.8 meters wide and will be on the same E-CMP platform as the Jeep Avenger.
With that information we can fill in the rest of the specifications ourselves with a probability bordering on certainty. We can almost dream of the electric powertrain that all the Milano's group members, such as the Peugeot e-2008, Opel Mokka Electric and Jeep Avenger have: 156 hp of power, linked to a 54 kWh battery that provides a range of approximately and close to 400 kilometers.
Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato has confirmed that the electric version of the Milano can be ordered as a four-wheel drive. This makes the Alfa the first compact SUV from Stellantis to offer this. The Milano will be sold in three trim levels: Perfor, Veloce and a special Launch edition. The SUV will be built at Alfa's plant in Tychy, Poland. According to Alfa Romeo, the Milano should account for approximately 40 percent of global sales.

The Milan brand has given an insight into its future plans in the Milano press release. The Milano will debut in 2024 and a year later the first Alfa Romeo will be unveiled that is exclusively supplied as an EV. Alfa Romeo's model range must be fully electric by 2027. Alfa has not yet revealed exactly how many EVs it wants to have in 2027.
