As the first Italian luxury car brand to launch a pure electric model in the global car industry, Maserati officially announced the "Folgore pure electric plan", the launch schedule of pure electric models, and Maserati's global operating performance in 2021.
Maserati upholds the innate spirit of innovation, inherits a century of glorious history and moves into the future. At the "MMXX: Time to be Audacious" brand ceremony in September 2020, Maserati started a new generation and launched the Folgore pure electric plan, which will welcome the global wave of electric vehicles with a 100% pure electric vehicle series.
As the only luxury brand within the Stellantis Group, Maserati has achieved outstanding performance in 2021. The global market share increased to 2.4%, of which North America and China accounted for 2.9% and 2.7% respectively; the total sales increased significantly, and the total number of vehicles delivered worldwide reached 24,269 units, a significant increase of 41% compared with 2020; the operating profit reached 5.1%, Net revenue amounted to EUR 2.021 billion.
In the Folgore pure electric plan, the all-new GranTurismo is Maserati's first 100% pure electric model, produced by the Mirafiori plant in Italy and planned to be launched in 2023. Using cutting-edge technology derived from Formula E racing cars, it fully releases surging performance, and inherits the Italian aesthetic design to create a comfortable and elegant driving experience, and release Maserati's century-old brand spirit. In addition, Maserati's new SUV-Grecale, which will be released on March 22, will also launch a pure electric version next year.
Driven by the outstanding sales performance, Maserati will continue to expand in different market levels to meet consumers' demand for luxury vehicles. In 2025, Maserati will release pure electric models of the supercar MC20, the newly redesigned Quattroporte and the Levante. As the Folgore project progresses, the entire Maserati lineup will also be fully electrified in 2030.
The Maserati Folgore pure electric plan is the main focus of the Stellantis Group's future development direction, Dare Forward 2030. In the future, new models equipped with pure electric powertrains will be 100% designed, developed and manufactured in Italy, continuing Maserati's immortal legend with extreme performance and innovative technology.
