Cult colors for Porsche Taycan - Now you have no excuse to order it in gray!

In case that name doesn't mean anything to you: Rubystar red (also called Rubystone red) is the same color in which the legendary Porsche 964 Carrera RS was introduced thirty years ago. It's not really red. Rubystar is more of a combination between pink and purple.

Porsche Taycan in the color of your dog or your motorcycle

If you don't like that, Porsche now has even more special colors on offer. The seventeen standard colors for the Taycan are complemented by sixty-five Paint to Sample shades (including Rubystar Red, Moonlight Blue, Acid Green, Riviera Blue and more) and an unlimited number of Paint to Sample Plus colors.

If you choose the latter option, you are unlimited in what you can choose. You can paint your Porsche Taycan the same color as your dog's collar, your motorcycle's tank, your house's siding. Make it up, you can't think of it that crazy. Porsche can - for a hefty fee of course - put together the color for you.

Range no different on paper, but larger in practice

Other improvements to the Porsche Taycan have to do with the range. It does not improve on paper (Porsche says it does not want to homologate the Taycan again), but in practice it does, according to the manufacturer. In the Normal and Range driving modes, in the 4WD versions, the front electric motor is now decoupled and de-energized when there is little demand from the car. If the Taycan is stationary or coasting, both electric motors will be switched off from now on.

Fast charging with the Porsche Taycan now even more efficient

Porsche also says it has optimized heat management. With the Turbo Charging Planner, the battery can now be heated to a slightly higher temperature than before, which improves the fast charging function. The residual heat from the electrical system is also used more efficiently for temperature regulation of the battery.

Park in and out with Remote Park Assist on your smartphone

Other additions to the Porsche Taycan are Remote Park Assist (which allows you to park and unpark the car with your smartphone without anyone behind the wheel) and the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM). That system was already compatible with Apple CarPlay, but is now also compatible with Android Auto.
