Rolls-Royce does not say what the La Rose Noire Droptail should cost (imagine it), but it is said that you have to take a minimum of 25 million pounds, the equivalent of almost 30 million euros! Let this amount sink in for a moment: 30 million for a car. Even if you win the next mega jackpot of the state lottery (18.3 million euros), you don't have to knock on the dealer's door.

Not that you can knock on the dealer's door, because the Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail is unique and sold. There is no second copy of it. Three other Droptail models follow, but all three are different.

The first Droptail was presented at a private event near Pebble Beach, California. The invitees included Rolls customers who have had a say in the development of their Droptails. The design of the now unveiled copy is inspired by the black baccara rose, which has a deep black-red color.

1630 pieces of maple wood

The buyer of the first Droptail likes a wooden decorative panel here and there, because the La Rose Noire has no less than 1630 pieces of maple wood in the shape of a triangle. The 533 red pieces are supposed to represent falling rose petals. They are all finished and installed by hand. An extremely precise job that took almost two years.

Swiss watch

Another part of the purchase price can be explained by the clock in the middle of the dashboard. It is made by the Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet. A clock of this brand will cost you 25,000 euros. The copy in the Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail is unique and probably costs a multiple of this. What is special is that the masterpiece can be detached and then worn around the wrist. That way you only have to buy one very expensive watch.

If you remove the watch, you will not be left with a black hole in the dashboard of your expensive Rolls. Instead, you see a small titanium sculpture representing a rose, also made by Audemars Piguet.

You would almost forget that the latest Rolls-Royce is also equipped with an engine. And what kind: a 6.6-liter V12 with reportedly almost 600 hp. Rolls does not make any statements about the exact power.
