On June 16, 2022, Honda released "[Civic TYPE R]New CIVIC TYPE R Nurburgring Test Run Video" on the youtube channel.
The film captured the appearance of the new CIVIC TYPE R at the Nürburgring in May this year.
The predecessor of the Civic Type R, the FK8, set the fastest front-drive record at the time with a time of 7:43.80 in April 2017. But in 2019, the Renault "Megane RS Trophy R" regained the top spot with a time of 7:40.100.
Honda showed everyone the new-generation Civic Type R's persistent attitude towards the title of "fastest front-drive car". In April 2022, it became the fastest front-drive car with a record of 2:23.120 at the Suzuka Circuit.
Expect it to beat the Renault Megane RS Trophy R at the Nürburgring as well.
When Honda introduced the video released on its Youtube channel on its official Twitter, the text read "Coming in summer 2022!". The text "Coming in Summer 2022" also appears at the end of the video.
Europe will release the gasoline-electric hybrid "Civic e:HEV" in March 2022, and Japan is also expected to launch it in July 2022.
