Well, striking is a big word for the cosmetic changes that the Ford Fiesta received, following the Ford Focus. He now looks a lot happier. The corners of the grille curl up and not down anymore, which does a lot for its appearance.
The other changes also correspond to those of the facelifted Focus: the logo has been moved to the grille, the hood has been raised, and the LED headlights have been slightly smaller. The rear lights were given a black frame.
At Ford, even in the small models, you will be happy with the excellent driving characteristics. The Fiesta has an excellent balance between comfort and sportiness.
The engine is also a party number. Actually there are two: a 1.0-liter turbo engine with 125 hp and a small electric motor. The Fiesta EcoBoost only takes 9.4 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h and on the autobahn it can easily keep up with cars that are much larger and more powerful. The flexibility is excellent, the maximum torque of 190 Nm (overboost: 230 Nm) is already available at 1400. One drawback: at a cold start you can hear the three-cylinder emphatically simmering, but at a constant speed you no longer suffer from it.
Nothing but praise for the seats, the steering and the six-speed manual transmission (a seven-speed automatic transmission is optional).
Those who prefer to scroll through PDFs with infinitely long price lists will be disappointed. The Fiesta will only be available as an EcoBoost Hybrid (125 hp) and as an ST-X (200 hp) from August 2022. This has consequences for prices, which go up considerably (see question 4).
Moreover, you are not in the back for pleasure, because the sloping roofline limits the headroom. We also have to wait a long time for plugs, the electric Ford Fiesta will probably only come in 2026.
Curious how Ford will get through the crisis in the car world?

We have a problem there. If you want a cheap Fiesta, you should hope that the dealer still has one in stock. The old 1.1 (75 hp), with a price of 20,390 euros, will soon disappear from the price list. Just like the 1.0 EcoBoost without a mild hybrid, but with 100 hp.
From the summer, the Fiesta in the Netherlands will only be available as a 125 hp EcoBoost Hybrid. It costs 24,825 euros and is therefore considerably more expensive than major competitors such as the Renault Clio (19,790 euros) and the Toyota Yaris (19,795 euros). Only the Volkswagen Polo (24,590 euros) is more expensive than the Ford Fiesta.
To compensate for this sadness, we can report that all Fiestas are also available with an automatic transmission. The most expensive 'regular' Fiesta is the 1.0 EcoBoost ST-Line X with automatic transmission and costs 29,500 euros.
The Fiesta ST-X is the maverick with its 200 hp 1.5-litre engine. The price of this pocket rocket is 36,420 euros.
Will the Ford Fiesta remain attractive until 2026, the year that an electric Fiesta will probably be the successor? It still drives fine, but is expensive because of the deletion of the cheaper versions without mild hybrid technology. The nicest place in the Fiesta is the driver's seat, sitting in the back is no fun…
