On the outside? Nothing. At first glance you can see no difference with the Long Range Dual Motor (408 hp, 4WD, two electric motors) and the Standard Range Single Motor (224 hp, front-wheel drive, one electric motor). Only the type plate behind the front wheel arches reveals which version you are dealing with.
The Long Range Single Motor lends itself to both other versions. With the top model, it shares its large battery pack with a gross capacity of 78 kWh. Charging the battery is at the same high speed: 155 kW with a DC charger.
Especially the similarities with the Standard range are great: only the front wheels are driven, there is only one electric motor at work and the power is almost the same (231 hp), just like the top speed (160 km/h) and consumption (17 .1 kWh/100 km).
Its range, which is the highest of all Polestar 2 models. The Long Range Single Motor reaches 540 kilometers, the Standard Range stops at 440 km. In both versions, the battery is charged from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. That will give you more kilometers in the Long Range, because of the larger battery. The fast top model with two electric motors has a higher consumption (19.4 kWh/100 km) and therefore a lower range of 480 kilometers.
In terms of performance, power consumption and driving characteristics, the Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor offers all the goodness of the Standard Range: silence on board, excellent suspension comfort (despite the firm suspension tuning), excellent sprinting capabilities, comfortable seats and a high-quality dashboard.
If you want to buy a Polestar 2, it would be a good idea to compare all versions carefully. Is a high action radius of the utmost importance to you? Then the Long Range Single Motor is a godsend.
But it doesn't make a difference with its equipment and you have to think carefully - with a critical look at your bank account - whether a theoretical driving range of 100 extra kilometers is really worth 4000 euros.

It's already at the dealer. With its price of 49,900 euros, it is right in between the other Polestar 2 models. The Long Range Dual motor costs 53,900 euros (4000 euros more expensive), the Standard Range Single Motor 45,900 euros (4000 euros cheaper). The standard equipment is exactly the same in all three cars.
The option policy is also the same. There are two packages. With the Plus Pack you get for 4500 euros, among other things, a heat pump, a premium audio system and a wireless charger for your phone. The Pilot Pack costs 3500 euros and mainly includes safety systems, such as adaptive cruise control and blind spot warning. Only the fast Long Range Dual Motor (the top model) can be ordered with the Performance package, which includes Brembo brakes and gold-colored brake calipers.
Is a range of 100 kilometers and a slightly higher loading capacity worth 4000 euros? I think I would take the Standard Range and then spend the money saved on the Plus Pack. Rather 440 kilometers of range with a lot of luxury, than 100 extra travel kilometres. But that decision can be different for everyone.
