The Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA is a type of Giulia CSL or Giulia GT3 RS. Because the letters GTA stand for 'Gran Turismo Alleggerita', where the last word means 'made lighter'. The designation was first used by Alfa Romeo in 1965, when the brand introduced the iconic Giulia Sprint GTA.
Alfa Romeo has made the Giulia GTA lighter by using a lot of carbon fiber, installing lightweight wheels with a central wheel nut and opting for an Akrapovic exhaust system. In the Giulia GTAm, the brand has gone even further. The model has no rear seat (but a roll cage) and is made of even more light materials than the GTA, making it 100 kilos lighter (1520 kilos).
The Giulia GTA is powered by the well-known 2.9-liter biturbo V6 from Alfa Romeo. That is good for 510 hp in the Giulia Q, but is tickled to 540 hp for the GTA and GTAm. Anyone who uses launch control in the Giulia GTAm can reach 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds. This makes it 0.3 seconds faster than the Giulia Q.
Alfa Romeo calls the Giulia GTA / GTAm a gift to enthusiasts. What the present will cost is now known: 222,112 euros for the GTA and 226,888 euros. No more than 500 units will be built. Buyers receive a special car cover and full racing equipment (helmet, overalls, gloves and shoes).
