China releases electrification brand "e:N" series

Honda will hold the "China Electrification Strategy Presentation Conference" on October 13, 2021, explaining the strategy adopted for electrification in China and conducting the world premiere of 5 electric concept cars.

The five electric concept cars announced for the first time at the China Electrification Strategy Conference are expected to be launched as the first electric exclusive brand "e:N" series models of the Honda brand.

The e:N series is equipped with the comprehensive system "e:N OS" covering Honda SENSING, Honda CONNECT, and digital cockpit, and also introduces the series exclusive design "e:N Design" based on "e:N Architecture" Developed and manufactured in China.

After the Honda e:N series is launched in China, it is also planned to be introduced to the European market, but it is currently uncertain whether it will be introduced to Japan.

The first series of "e:N" series "e:NS1" and "e:NP1" have been released

The commercially available models released at the world premiere of the e:N series are "e:NS1" and "e:NP1". These two models will go on sale in the spring of 2022 as the first models of the e:N series.

"e:NS1" is sold by Dongfeng Honda, and "e:NP1" is sold by GAC Honda. Both are battery electric vehicles based on the vezel design sold in Japan and adopt the front-wheel drive "e:N Architecture F".

It comes standard with Honda’s new-generation smart-connected technology “Honda CONNECT 3.0” and a 1.5-inch large-size display screen. It also has a driving monitoring camera (DMC) that detects dangerous behaviors such as driving inattention and drowsiness for safe driving assistance. The cruising range is 510km.

Announcing the second part of the series "e:N2 Concept"

On November 5, 2022, at the "Fifth China International Import Expo" held in Shanghai, China, Honda announced the second concept model "e:N2 Concept" of the e:N2 series for the first time.

The e:N2 Concept is based on the "e:N Coupe Concept" launched at the world premiere of the e:N series, and is a concept car that is closer to commercially available models.

The e:N2 Concept aims at a new style that breaks away from the existing category. Surface treatments such as the headlights and the side profile of the car are all lined to bring out the metallic feeling, and the appearance is impressive.

The cabin adopts a digital cockpit. Through ingenuity such as light and fragrance, create an intellectual and sexy space value.

It adopts the e:N series dedicated front-wheel drive electric vehicle chassis platform "e:N Architecture F" of the same model as e:NS1 and e:NP1, providing a unique driving experience with excellent driving performance of human-vehicle integration.

For a Crossover-style 4-door coupe?

The design of the e:N2 Concept is based on the e:N Coupe Concept. The e:N Coupe Concept is a 2-door coupe, while the e:N2 Concept is a 4-door coupe with designed doors on the rear seat.

Since the exterior design has an SUV-style wheel arch trim, it is speculated that the e:N2 Concept will be a crossover model that combines sedans and SUVs like the Toyota Crown Crossover.

Honda announced on October 13, 2021 that the three e:N series electric concept models other than e:NS1 and e:NP1 "will be developed with the goal of launching within five years."
