●China's fifth-generation CR-V also has a PHEV model
CR-V PHEV is only sold in China
U.S. sales of the sixth-generation CR-V begin in September 2022. Japan, on the other hand, ended production of the fifth-generation Honda CR-V at the end of August 2022.
The CR-V has been America's best-selling crossover SUV since its inception in 1997. However, due to the huge body, it was not popular in Japan, and its existence gradually faded.
In this context, the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China published information on the appearance of the CR-V PHEV model.
Information on the sixth-generation CR-V PHEV has been added to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, which is regarded as a database of Chinese industrial products.
The exterior design of the sixth-generation CR-V is not much different, only the front and rear bumper designs are slightly different. However, the interior of the car has undergone major changes.
The CR-V PHEV is powered by a 150PS LFB16 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine and a 184PS motor. The WLTC fuel consumption performance is "1.6L per 100km".
After converting into per liter/km, the fuel consumption performance is as high as 62.5km/L.
China also launched a PHEV model in the previous generation CR-V.
The car is named "Honda CR-V SPORT HYBRID e+", and its fuel consumption performance is higher than that of the new-generation PHEV model, at 76.0km/L. The EV driving distance is 85km. The next-generation specification may be downgraded in response to increased vehicle weight and noise regulations.
The price of the previous generation CR-V SPORT HYBRID e+ starts from 273,800 yuan (about 5.7 million yen), and it is speculated that the new generation of CR-V PHEV models sold in China should also fall in a similar price band.
The CR-V PHEV model is only sold in China, where electrification has grown significantly recently. It is also unclear at this stage whether Japan will sell the sixth-generation CR-V before the introduction of the PHEV model. Due to the precedent that Japan introduced the fifth-generation model two years later, it is still possible to introduce a new-generation model for sales in the future.
