Hyundai Ioniq 6 (2023): 3 advantages, 3 disadvantages

Advantage 1: enough legroom for tall Dutch people

Despite the prominent center tunnel (which the Hyundai Ioniq 5 does not have), even tall drivers have more than enough legroom.

Advantage 2: Hyundai corrects Volkswagen

Electric Volkswagens often have a play and pause icon on the accelerator and brake pedals. Actually, the + and – of Hyundai are much more logical, because with those pedals you go faster or softer.

Advantage 3: Flippers for the range freaks

The Ioniq 6 also has paddles on the steering wheel with which you can regulate the degree of regeneration. Indispensable in a car that revolves around economical driving. Then you want that precision.

Disadvantage 1: No flap but a drawer

A drawer as a glove compartment is only useful if no one is sitting in the passenger seat. Or your passenger must wear knee pads.

Disadvantage 2: Cheap ignition key

The ignition key of the Ioniq 6 is a cheap-feeling silver-colored egg. The plastic between the buttons forms the H of Hyundai.

Disadvantage 3: The steering wheel is in the way

The Ioniq 5 also had this problem: no matter how you sit and look, part of the digital instrumentation disappears behind the edge of the steering wheel.
