Is the new Porsche 911 GTS the version you should have again?

Let's go up the model ladder: with the Porsche 911 Carrera (385 hp) at the bottom and the 911 Carrera S (450 hp), 911 GT3 (510 hp), 911 Turbo (580 hp) and 911 Turbo S (650 hp) at the top right now. horsepower). 'Hey', Porsche thought twelve years ago, 'there is still a gap between the Carrera S and GT3. Let's put a new performance in that.' And so the Porsche 911 GTS was born.

Porsche 911 GTS in the Coupé, Cabriolet in Targa

The latest generation has the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder boxer engine as the Carrera models, but with 480 hp. It is available as a Coupé and Cabriolet, with rear-wheel drive or 4WD. The Targa GTS is only available as a four-wheel drive. On all variants, you can choose between an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox and a seven-speed manual.

Standard with Porsche 911 Turbo suspension

As standard, the Porsche 911 GTS is equipped with a lowered 911 Turbo chassis (not the Targa GTS), Porsche Active Suspension Management and the brakes of the 911 Turbo. Optional is the Lightweight Design package, which includes carbon fiber reinforced plastic bucket seats (the rear seat is omitted), lighter glass on the sides and rear and a lightweight battery. The saving is a maximum of 25 kilos.

From standstill to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds

With its output of 480 hp and 570 Nm of torque, the Porsche 911 GTS Carrera 4 with PDK sprints to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. This makes it 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor. Because Porsche omits part of the sound insulation in the GTS, the sound of the standard sports exhaust can be heard even better in the interior.

Recognize Porsche 911 GTS by dark details

From the outside you can recognize the new Porsche 911 GTS by its 911 Turbo wheels with central nut, its dark design details (the Targa's roll bar is also dark) and the standard SportDesign package. In the interior, the darkness continues. The seats, the sports steering wheel and the 10 millimeter shorter lever are covered with the black Race-Tex microfibre material.

Price of all Porsche 911 GTS versions

The new Porsche 911 GTS models can be ordered immediately and will be available at dealers from the end of September. These are the prices of the five versions:

  • 911 Carrera GTS Coupé - 184,600 euro
  • 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet - 200,400 euro
  • 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupé - 194,300 euro
  • 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet - 210,600 euro
  • 911 Targa 4 GTS - 211.000 euro
