●A facelifted Harrier is coming soon!
●Upgrade multimedia, Safety Sense function
●Specification, equipment reorganization and price increase
●New PHEV model in Z specification
●It will take 2 years for the redesigned Harrier to be delivered?
The facelifted Harrier is scheduled to be unveiled on September 26, 2022. The content of this minor facelift is to adjust the noise and exhaust regulations, upgrade various functions, and reorganize the specifications and equipment at the same time. The PHEV model that everyone is looking forward to is also added.
The following will introduce you to the changes announced so far.
In this minor facelift, the biggest change is the car navigation related multimedia system.
The parts that have been changed in all specifications are as follows: USB is changed from Type A to Type C, the power output of wireless charging is increased, the charging time is shortened, and SmartDeviceLink is abolished.
The function of the safety assist technology "Toyota Safety Sense" has also been added to make the safety aspect more upgraded.
The basic composition of the grade remains the same, but the "G leather package" that is not well sold will be abolished, and only the highest-end Z specification has a set leather package.
The ETC 2.0, which was originally standard in the Z specification, and the nanoeX, which is only available in some high-end specifications, have become standard on all vehicles, and the size of the navigation and multimedia screens of each specification has also been expanded.
Due to the above changes, the price has also been increased. The original minimum price of the Harrier was about 2 million yen, but it was raised to about 3 million yen after the facelift.
The most important part of this facelift is the addition of PHEV models. However, the car name will not be "Harrier PHV" like the RAV4 PHV, but will be listed in the form of the highest specification "Z".
The maximum output value of its power system is 225kW (306PS), so it should be inferred that it should be equipped with the same 2.5L inline 4-cylinder engine + front and rear motors as the RAV4 PHV. The price of the PHEV model starts from 6.2 million yen and is equipped with PHEV-specific equipment such as an external charging device and a rear seat heating device.
The facelifted Harrier is expected to be released on September 26, 2022, and dealers will provide quotations from late August, and the delivery period of some specifications will take more than two years.
The number of units that each dealer can order is small, and some dealers have stopped taking orders. Since there is no information about the official stop taking orders, there should be no problem with the reservation. But there will inevitably be a rather long delivery period.
