Up to and including 31 July 6594 new caravans have been registered in the Netherlands. That is 29.3 percent more than in the first seven months of 2020. Second-hand caravans are more popular. For the first time in ten years, more than 10,000 copies were sold by the specialist trade: 10,045 (plus 9.6 percent). Private individuals traded another 23,000 used caravans (plus 16 percent).
Figures from the Bovag, Kampeer en Caravan Industrie (KCI) and RDC also show that the sales of new motorhomes have already equaled the level of the entire year 2020. Up to and including 31 July, 2394 motorhomes were registered (plus 32 percent), so we can safely assume that that number has now exceeded the 2412 of 2020. And that is an absolute sales record. An additional 23,303 motorhomes were traded on the second-hand market.
