Research: you are not interested in having these options on a car

Research firm AutoPacific surveyed nearly 90,000 consumers who have recently purchased a new car. They were asked about options that they would and would not like on a car. And these are the results. Starting with the technology that the respondents do appreciate.

Buyers do want these options in a car

1. Heated seats - 66 percent want this option
2. Blind Spot Warning - 60 percent
3. Front and rear parking sensors - 55 percent
4. Four-wheel drive - 54 percent
5. Lane-departure warning - 54 procent
6. Apple CarPlay en/of Android Auto - 53 procent
7. Power reclining seats - 52 percent
8. LED lighting in the interior - 52 percent
9. Ventilated seats - 50 percent
10. Adjustable driver's seat with memory - 49 percent

The research is American, so the results will probably differ in our country. But apart from the LED interior lighting and the ventilated seats, we understand the above list very well. And that also applies to the following list, which lists the options that the public is not so enthusiastic about. The respondents found these matters the least interesting.

People don't want these options in a car

1. Head-up display with augmented reality - 14 percent want this option
2. Engine noise through the speakers - 13 percent
3. The ability to buy apps/options through the infotainment system - 12 percent
4. Facial Recognition - 9 percent
5. Gesture Control - 9 percent
6. Concierge services (fuel, cleaning, drop off for maintenance) - 7 percent
7. Fully autonomous driving - 7 percent
