Battery and range BYD Dolphin

You lease the BYD Dolphin Active as standard, with an electric motor that produces 95 hp and 180 Nm of torque. Linked to the 45 kWh battery pack, you can drive 340 kilometers on one charge (WLTP). The second version of the Dolphin is called Boost and comes with a significant power upgrade: 177 hp and 290 Nm of torque. The Boost does have the same 45 kWh battery pack, which gives you a range of up to 310 kilometers on a full battery.

The Chinese have installed the third and final motorization of the BYD Dolphin on two versions: the Comfort and Design. This powertrain is 204 hp and 310 Nm strong. You also get the largest battery: 60 kWh. This increases your range to 427 kilometers.

BYD Dolphin versions

As mentioned, the BYD Dolphin is available in four versions. From the entry level (Active), the Dolphin is remarkably well equipped. Adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, a reversing camera, LED headlights, alloy wheels and a 12.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are some examples of the standard equipment. BYD is even installing a heat pump, an energy-efficient way of heating that must be removed from the option list for many European car brands.

The Boost version does not give you more luxury, but it does give you a more powerful on-board charger (11 kW) for faster charging and more advanced eight-wheel suspension for better road holding. The Comfort version adds electric folding exterior mirrors, seat heating (front) and parking sensors (front). The top Design model also gives you a tilting glass roof, a 230V socket, a wireless phone charger and privacy glass.
