China released the second bZ series "bZ3"

On October 24, 2022, Toyota released a new series of battery electric vehicles "bZ series", the second model "bZ3" after bZ4X.

The bZ3 is a battery electric car jointly developed by the original Toyota factory and BTET (BYD TOYOTA EV TECHNOLOGY), a joint venture established by BYD, China's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, and FAW Toyota. FAW Toyota is expected to be responsible for both production and sales.

The battery electric vehicle "bZ4X", the first SUV model of the bZ series, will be released on October 29, 2021, and will go on sale on May 12, 2022.

Toyota announced that as part of the comprehensive development of electric vehicles, it is promoting a plan to introduce 15 electric vehicles by 2025, of which 7 are bZ series, and the remaining 5 models will be launched in the next three years.

The car body in the picture is particularly darkened, so it is not clear what the model in the preview picture is, and its outline looks like a Fastback-style 5-door sedan.

The rear door and trunk space seem to be longer than that of bZ3, and it may be a Fastback sedan with a class distance one step larger than that of bZ3.

In the picture, there is a spoiler protruding from both ends installed on the bZ4X at the rear of the roof, and the rear of the car is designed with a slightly raised duck tail, bringing out a sense of sportiness.

Although the bZ series has already released a number of concept cars, there is no model that matches the model in the preview and has not yet been commercialized. Therefore, it is speculated that it is a new model that has not yet been released as a concept car.

Not a new generation Prius, but most likely relevant

Previously, Toyota applied for trademarks related to the bZ series in Europe. The trademarks that may become the name of the bZ series are "BZ4X", "BZ1", "BZ3", "BZ1X", "BZ4", "BZ2X", "BZ2", " There are 10 types of BZ3X", "BZ5X", and "BZ5".

bZ4X and bZ3 have been launched, and the names of the 5 models to be launched in the future may be selected from the remaining 8 trademarks.
