Since the beginning of this year, the trailer has been continuously laid out. After the exterior and interior design factory drawings were first exposed at the end of June, the second model of Hyundai’s Ioniq electric brand, the Ioniq 6 electric coupe, was finally officially unveiled in mid-July. At the same time, more detailed interior equipment, body size, and related power data and charging specifications were also announced. Hyundai Automobile also said that the Ioniq 6 will start production in September this year, and it will be launched in South Korea before the end of the year at the earliest, and other overseas markets will have to wait until the first half of 2023. As for the Taiwan market, it is estimated that the fastest introduction time for Nanyang Industrial may be in the second half of 2023.
Like the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 is based on the Group's E-GMP electric vehicle modular chassis platform. The car's frame is a Fastback Sedan hatchback electric sedan, and is deeply inspired by the Prophecy EV concept car. Therefore, the shape of the whole vehicle is outlined with surreal simple lines and pure aerodynamic form, and presented with a very dynamic streamline body and an arched posture, in line with the trend of the new era of electric vehicles. The innovative contours that should be made have also created an ultra-low drag coefficient of only 0.21Cd, including a low-slung front, hidden door handles, ultra-slim design exterior digital rearview mirrors, Boat Tail body lines, and two rear bumpers. The side spoiler diffuser, the rear wing-type spoiler and the fully covered and flattened chassis are all sophisticated designs to reduce wind resistance.
In addition, the "Parametric Pixels" parameter pixel design feature that first appeared on the Ioniq 5 and is Hyundai's signature is also used on the Ioniq 6 to emphasize its future technology experience, including the daytime running lights in the headlight group, Through-type taillights, rear fog lights and brake lights, etc., enhance the avant-garde identity and high recognition of Ioniq 6, and bring visual charm with both personality and technology.
Benefiting from the new-generation E-GMP chassis platform, its body length/width/height dimensions reach 4855/1880/1495mm, and the wheelbase is 2950mm. Every occupant can have a spacious and comfortable ride. The layout of the cabin is also like the Ioniq 5, which integrates a 12-inch digital instrument panel and a 12-inch central video and audio touch screen, and is equipped with the same two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and steering column-type gear lever design. However, the Ioniq 6 has more avant-garde electronic exterior mirrors, as well as a 64-color ring cabin atmosphere light that can change with the speed of the vehicle; in addition, there is an e-ASD electronic active sound simulation system, which can provide spaceship-like propulsion The sci-fi sound of the time brings a different driving experience. Others can also choose Relaxation Comfort front seats with 120-degree reclining function, V2L external power supply function in the car, Bose advanced audio, etc., of course, there is a complete set of Hyundai Smart Sense safety driving assistance system.
In terms of power specifications, the Ioniq 6 is equipped with two battery capacities of 53.0KWh and 77.4KWh, and has single-motor rear-wheel drive (entry) and dual-motor four-wheel drive (high-end) settings. For the 77.4KWh high-end dual-motor four-wheel drive model, the maximum horsepower and torque can reach 320hp and 61.7kgm respectively, the acceleration from 0 to 100km/h only takes 5.1 seconds, and it has a maximum cruising range (WLTP) of 610km. As for the power data of the 53.0kWh model, the original factory did not disclose it. In the charging part, Ioniq 6 can also support 400V/800V input voltage, and under 350kW high-speed DC fast charging, it can charge the power from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. In addition, it also has the same internal and external V2L external power supply function as the Ioniq 5. There are sockets under the rear seats in the car, which can charge laptops, mobile phones and other devices, and external ovens, microwave ovens and heat exchangers can be connected through adapters outside the car. High-power electrical appliances such as kettles make the car a large power bank.
