The range of an electric car is largely determined by the size of the battery pack and how economically the car drives. But more factors are important; according to Tesla there are even 15... Can you guess them all?
When you get into an EV and want to drive away, the car provides an estimate of how far you will go on the current charge. This is no different with a Tesla. It is important that this number is accurate so that the driver can determine what the journey will look like. Does it need to be recharged in between, can this be done at the destination, or can I even drive there and back without charging?

But it is very difficult to calculate this expected range. Tesla has added more and more to this calculation in various updates in recent years to inform the driver as best as possible. According to the Americans, the range in your Tesla now depends on no fewer than 15 factors:
Wind force and direction
Slope of the ground
Speed of the traffic around you
Average acceleration and braking speed
Humidity and pressure
Degree of cloud cover
The percentage of battery charge you start with
The battery temperature
Weight of the car
The streamline of the car
Energy used for climate control such as heating, ventilation or air conditioning
Vehicle-specific energy use (such as a bicycle rack or trailer)
The condition/health of the battery
