Price reductions, especially for electric cars, have been the order of the day lately. But there is a brand that has significantly reduced the prices of all its models. Up to 3750 euros!
When it comes to electric cars, many brands are shouting from the rooftops when they drop prices. After all, it can mean the difference between receiving a purchase subsidy or not. And therefore generate a lot of extra business.

There are also brands that take a more careful approach, Citroën for example. The French brand headlines in bold letters on its website that it 'simplifies its range for an easier purchasing process and better customer experience'.
If you go a little further into the text, you will see that there are only three, instead of usually five, equipment levels per model. The new equipment variants are given the simple names You, Plus and Max. In addition, 5 option packages are available. The fact that this, in the words of Citroën, 'simplifies the purchasing process for potential customers' is never a bad thing. What is much nicer is that the simplified range will result in significant price reductions as of September 1.
That is the starting price of the relatively new and expensive Citroen C5 decreases by 820 euros, which is a bonus. A price reduction of 1970 euros on the Citroen C5 Aircross is already making more progress. But it can be even better. The price reduction champion is the Citroën C3 Aircross. The starting price drops by no less than 3,750 euros. Also on the Citroen C4 you can get a discount of more than 3000 euros.

Although Citroën itself does not say anything about this, we cannot separate the price reductions from the mediocre sales results that Citroën is currently achieving. Because although the entire car market is on the rise, Citroën has sold fewer cars so far this year than in 2022. Sales of new Citroëns fell in the first eight months of 2023 from 6,451 to 5,052 units compared to 2022.
Perhaps the new electric Citroën ë-C3 can improve the sales figures somewhat. But before it hits the market, we will probably already be in the new year. Other small bright spots are the technical upgrades that are in store for a number of other Citroëns. This is how the electric ones fall Citroën ë-C4 and ë-C4 We are talking about the more powerful 156 hp engine and 54 kWh battery, which increases the range to 420 km (WLTP).
