The Dutch press release about the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid only mentions the official consumption figures in small, hard to read print at the bottom. Perhaps that is because the authors also know that the specified 1 liter per 30 kilometers is very optimistic. Nobody's going to get that. No one!
Anyway, the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid, weighing more than 2600 kilos (!) is a plug-in hybrid, powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 and an electric motor. Together they are good for an output of 449 hp and 700 Nm of torque. The 17.3 kWh battery of the Bentayga Hybrid is on paper sufficiently large for an electric range of more than 40 kilometers.
If you try really hard - and hold up the traffic behind you by driving off like a narcolepsy snail - you should be able to get somewhere close. If you succeed, then an average consumption of 1 in 30 should belong to the limited possibilities. In theory.
An interesting feature is the Bentley Hybrid Efficiency Accelerator Pedal. That means there is a resistance in the accelerator pedal. If you don't push through that, the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid will continue to drive in its electric mode, otherwise the combustion engine will be switched on. This encourages the driver to stay in EV Drive for as long as possible.
You can't actually recognize the Bentayga Hybrid as such. It looks no different than the Bentayga V8 or the Bentayga Speed and even has the two twin tailpipes dangling under the rear bumper. If you look very closely, you will see a fuel cap on the left and right of the Hybrid. Petrol goes in the right, and the plug in the left to recharge the battery at a charging station.
