It is no secret that the Volkswagen ID.2 is coming. Volkswagen is now also showing the first images of a compact SUV based on the ID.2. You still have two to three years to save.
The Wolfsburgers have informed us through a spokesperson X (formerly Twitter) released a first image of the new compact SUV. The spokesperson named Stephan Rehak calls the EV the ID.2all SUV, a brother of the ID.2all.
In the image we see a black silhouette that reminds us of the Volvo EX30. This means we immediately have the biggest competitor of the new EV. The headlights show similarities with the Volkswagen ID.2 and we see a roof spoiler and three stripes as a design element in the rear window pillar.

The electric SUV will reportedly be available with two battery packs: 38 kWh or 58 kWh. Provides further technical specifications Volkswagen not free, but it is likely that they are similar to the ID.2. The electric hatchback stands on its own version of the MEB platform (MEB Entry), has 226 hp and has a range of 450 kilometers.
The entry price of the ID.2all SUV is probably around 30,000 euros. This makes it more expensive than the regular ID.2 on the one hand, but significantly cheaper than the ID.2 on the other Volkswagen ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5. According to Rehak, the ID.2all SUV will be introduced in 2026.
That year will certainly be important for Volkswagen's EV aspirations, as the brand wants to have presented no fewer than 10 new electric cars by then. In addition to the ID.2all and ID.2all SUV, this also includes an even cheaper EV of 20,000 euros.
Volkswagen would like to make this dirt-cheap EV in collaboration with another brand, so that they can share the production costs. Competitor Renault is in the picture for this, but discussions about this are only in the initial phase. Also the Volkswagen ID.1 is in the pipeline, but is not expected until the end of this decade. So that is not one of the 10 new EVs for 2026.
