The Volvo XC40 B3 replaces the XC40 T3. Both have a three-cylinder turbo engine with 163 hp and 265 Nm, but in the B3 it is supported by a mild hybrid system, which temporarily delivers 14 hp and 40 Nm extra. The B3 has an official consumption of 1 to 14.9. In the old T3 you get - if you try really hard - about 1 in 13.7. Compared to the latter, the B3 can pull 200 kilos more (now 1800 kilos).
Furthermore, adjustments have been made to the petrol engine of the Volvo XC40 B4. The mild hybrid is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 197 hp and 300 Nm. It would now be more economical, according to Volvo, and perform a lot better. The latter is expressed in a sprint time from standstill to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds (was 8.4 seconds). The XC40 B4 is available with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
