If you can't quite put your finger on what has changed: look at the grille. It no longer has those sharp projections under the headlights and now leaves more space left and right between the hood and the chrome element at the bottom. It makes the air vent appear slightly wider and lower. Mazda has also adapted the light signature of the CX-5. The rear lights and the front daytime running lights now have L-shaped LED elements. The beige CX-5 in the photos has a new color: Zircon Sand.
The Mazda CX-5 is still available as a basic version, Comfort, Sportive, Luxury and Signature, but from now on also as Newground. That version is dressed up a bit more off-road, with a silver-colored skid plate in the front and rear bumpers, silver-colored trim on the doors, black exterior mirrors, green-yellow accents in the grille (which are reflected in the interior) and 19-inch alloy wheels. In addition, the CX-5 is now equipped with a Mi-Drive selector, with which you can change driving mode at the touch of a button. All models from Luxury onwards have a wireless phone charger on board.
Interestingly, Mazda says it has adjusted the layout of the luggage compartment. This results in a considerable increase in the available liters: plus 73 liters to 550 liters. Additionally, Mazda has added a new feature to its safety systems. The so-called Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) is standard from the Luxury trim level and partly drives itself in traffic jams. The renewed Mazda CX-5 will be available at the dealer from the end of 2021 for a starting price of 35,990 euros. And that makes it 1000 euros less expensive.
