The Tesla Cybertruck comes from a child's imagination. How else do you explain the 'primitive video game graphics' look and the armored glass panes (which couldn't withstand a ball during the presentation). Moreover, it seems that the Cybertruck in its current form cannot be sold in Europe. Its body shape and stainless steel exoskeleton are disastrous for pedestrian safety.
Either way, that doesn't stop people from massively placing preorders. Tesla has now received more than 1 million reservations for the Cybertruck. Production of the rear-wheel drive version - with a range of 400 kilometers - is expected to start at the end of 2021, but has been postponed to sometime in 2022. According to Tesla, there will also be a Cybertruck with two and even three electric motors (range of 500 and 800 kilometers respectively) .
The 1 million reservations that Tesla has for the Cybertruck say little. You can have your name put on the waiting list for 100 euros, so many people did that out of curiosity. In the case of the Cybertruck, the threshold is much lower than normal. For example, for the Tesla Model 3 you had to pay 1000 euros to get a reservation. And you saw that in the number of reservations, which was about 455,000 a year and a half after the disclosure.
