The electric Volvo XC40 Recharge has been a real powerhouse since its introduction. Each version has two electric motors with 408 hp and 660 Nm! Golf GTI drivers are left amazed at the traffic light, because the electric XC40 races to 100 in 4.9 seconds. Maybe a bit overkill...
The second variant of the Volvo XC40 Recharge takes it easier. It has one less electric motor, but is still 231 hp strong. The battery pack shrinks from 78 kWh to 70 kWh, but that should not have too major consequences for the range. It goes from 418 kilometers to about 400 km.
The single electric motor is probably more economical and it needs to move less mass. The new base model is 150 kilograms lighter. The electric SUV will still weigh two tons, but oh well.
Taking a step back in horsepower does wonders for the price. The base price of the 231 hp version is 45,995 euros, while the trusted XC40 Recharge with 408 hp changes hands for 56,495 euros. Both lease drivers and private individuals will rub their hands.
