After much deliberation, we have chosen our new Car of the Year 2023 at autoreview.nl. The car that takes away this title is the Hyundai Ioniq 6! In several messages that will be online next week, we will explain in detail why the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is our top favorite.
As soon as the Christmas tree is up and Mariah Carey pulls out her most exciting Christmas dress, you know the end of the year is approaching. And that means taking stock of the past year. What went well or even great?
We participated and took a good look at the cars that would come on the market in 2023. Which ones are good and which ones are even better? One clear winner emerged from this list: the Hyundai Ioniq 6.
We quickly agreed that our Car of the Year should be electric. No matter how you look at it, EVs are the future. But almost every new electric car is an SUV, whether compact or large. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is not. And that alone earns him bonus points in our opinion.
Admittedly, the tasteful design of the Hyundai gave us some doubts, but in any case it is original and not interchangeable. And we love that too. What we also love are physical buttons and keys in the interior. The Ioniq 6 has that in abundance.
But the main reason why the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is our Car of the Year 2023 is its technology - its electrical properties. A range of up to 614 kilometers (WLTP), super-fast charging thanks to 800 volt technology and a battery of up to 77.4 kWh are figures that will make even EV haters have doubts. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is also eligible for the purchase subsidy of 2,950 euros, also in 2024.
Enough reasons to declare the Hyundai Ioniq 6 our Car of the Year 2023. In the last week of this year we will highlight a different aspect of the car every day:
