You can no longer buy these 10 car models from 2024 - AutoReview.nl

Many new car models will appear in the showroom in 2024. But there are also cars that you can no longer find here. The following 10 car models will disappear from the market in 2024 or have already disappeared and you can no longer buy new.

1 - Audi TT

It is one of the most talked-about Audis ever: the Audi TT. Especially with the first generation, Audi made a design statement at the end of the 1990s that is worth noting. Later generations are less daring in design but still beautiful coupes to look at. But hey, who buys a coupe these days? And also the Audi TT Roadster is no longer as popular as when it first came onto the market. And so, after more than 25 years, it's over for the Audi TT. There will be no successor.

2 - Audi R8

More sad news for fans of a sporty Audi; the end of the Audi R8 is in sight. The Final Edition has been presented in Japan and then you know it. Although the American singer Cher started her Farewell Tour in 2004 and then quietly came up with two more world tours. However, Audi seems to be keeping to its word and is indeed waving goodbye to the R8 with V10. A possible successor will probably be fully electric.

3 - Mercedes C-klasse in E-klasse coupe in convertible

Hoppa. Mercedes is canceling two models at the same time, the coupe version of both Mercedes C-class as the Mercedes E-class. They were followed by one model, the equally beautiful one Mercedes CLE. With a length of 4.85 meters, the CLE is longer than its predecessors. It is also available as a convertible, which also puts an end to the C-class and E-class convertible. In fact, Mercedes is eliminating four models. That cleans up nicely, so to speak.

4 - Mercedes CLS

Another Mercedes that you will no longer find in the showroom in 2024 is the Mercedes CLS. Consumers want SUVs and so Mercedes puts many other body types in the bin. Like this four-door coupe. The last copy came off the production line last August. The second generation was also available as a Shooting Brake, which we like even more. But yes, the consumer wants an SUV.

5 - Audi A7

Audi is also not exactly childish when it comes to eliminating models. The Audi A7 Sportback will be replaced in 2024 by the successor to the Audi A6 which continues as Audi A7. That is to say: the A6 with combustion engines. The fully electric version will be called Audi A6, but with the addition of e-tron. The new A7 (i.e. the new A6 with a combustion engine) will be available as a sedan and as a station wagon (Avant). Are you still following?

6 - Maserati Ghibli

Damn, it's not the least of the cars that will be leaving the field in 2024. Also the Maserati Ghibli it's coming. This is a sedan and Maserati already has a sedan, namely the Maserati Quattroporte. That's fine if the demand for sedans is high, but this is not the case. And so Maserati chooses to wave goodbye to the Ghibli. The successor to the Quattroporte, which will be launched in 2025, will also succeed the Ghibli and as a result will reportedly be slightly smaller than the current model.

7 - Ferrari Portofino

Anyone who has ever been to the Italian coastal town of Portofino will never want to leave, it is that beautiful. Also the Ferrari Portofino is beautiful, but you have to say goodbye to this. It was succeeded by that other Ferrari named after an Italian place, the convertible version of the Ferrari Rome. Let's just hope that you win the New Year's Eve draw of the state lottery, because it costs just under €300,000.

8 - Mini Clubman

Production of the will stop in February 2024 Mini Clubman. We honestly don't like that. It makes way for a new generation of Mini models, Mini says. By this Mini refers to the new one Mini Countryman. But we don't like that one as much. Unfortunately, Mini doesn't care about that. While colleague Wouter still drives around in a Mini Cooper to his complete satisfaction. In any case: the Final Edition is the very last Clubman. Production is limited to 1969 copies. That is the year in which the first Clubman was unveiled.

9 - Volvo S60 and S90

We already said it: the world is no longer waiting for sedans. They therefore bring in too little money for many brands. This also applies to Volvo. That brand will achieve both the Volvo S60 as the Volvo S90 of the payroll. Production stops. Fortunately, the station wagons (the V60 and the V90) will still exist. But they have also been destroyed in England, so you may wonder when it will be the Netherlands' turn. Our advice? Buy a Volvo estate while you still can.

10 - Volkswagen Up

We conclude this list with the smallest, the Volkswagen Up. Production has now stopped. The Up came onto the market in 2011 and has since been sold almost 100,000 times in the Netherlands. But due to increasingly strict safety and emission requirements, it is no longer profitable to sell the Up for an acceptable price, Volkswagen says. If you're quick, you can still get one. You can still find a few stock models on volkswagen.nl.
