Earlier we saw what the outside of the new Zeekr X will look like. Then we learned about the specifications of the Chinese hatchback. Now it's the turn of the interior, where the sliding touchscreen is the eye-catcher.
At the beginning of this year it was announced that the Chinese Zeekr - a subsidiary of the large Geely - was going to launch a luxury hatchback. The X (previously known as the 003) was intended for the European market. The car was therefore designed in Sweden, and the styling reminded us of a mix of Lynk & Co and BMW. The technology is 'borrowed' from the Smart #1. This provides a respectable maximum range of 560 kilometers, tied to 272 or even 428 hp.
And now we see in photos released by Zeekr how the interior is designed. The dashboard of the Zeekr X is exactly as you would expect in a modern (electric) car: a very minimalistic design with two screens. The smaller screen in front of the driver serves as an instrument panel, the huge screen in the middle of the dashboard houses the infotainment system.
However, something else is going on with the central touchscreen. Not only is the screen quite large (14.6 inches), you can also slide it aside. This is made possible by a track that runs across the dashboard. When the screen is pushed all the way to the right, the co-driver enjoys it. He or she can watch videos or play games on it. Never again will you hear how your co-driver is bored.

The oval two-spoke steering wheel also stands out. The instrument panel is remarkably small, but the car also has a head-up display. A center tunnel is missing, as is often the case with electric cars, so that the legroom in the front is generous. You can charge a smartphone wirelessly in the armrest.
Other features of the Zeekr X's interior include frameless doors, aircraft-style window switches, a microfiber ceiling with a glass case and a gold hook for clothing on the B-pillar. In a top view of the interior we count not five but four seats.
We'll see more of the Zeekr X in a few weeks, as the hatchback makes its official debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. The expectation is that the car can be ordered for Dutch customers this year.
