New Jaguar F-Pace on Test Drive in the streets of Europe

You don't believe it, but it's been three years since the Jaguar F-Pace made its debut. In short, it is high time for an update of Jaguar's first SUV. We understood the modified version during a secret test drive in southern Europe.

Most car models last for six or seven years. Around half of their life cycle, it is then time for a facelift. And so it is also the turn of the Jaguar F-Pace.

The F-Pace represents an important part of Jaguar's sales figures. For many customers, the tough but not too exuberant appearance is an important purchasing argument. The Jaguar designers would therefore be crazy if they radically revamped the design of their first SUV. Moreover, they would risk a lot of rattling from their marketing and sales colleagues.

Jaguar F-Pace changes

So don't expect dramatic changes to the new F-Pace. In that regard, the test drivers could have saved the trouble of packing the car. Because of all that adhesive plastic, he stands out more than if they had started shopping with an uncamouflaged F-Pace.

Is it beautiful?

Triggered by the camouflage material, our photographers took a look at the updated F-Pace and then we went looking for changes. We discover that among other things on the nose - well, it's a facelift, isn't it? This way we see striking oval air intakes. It is still difficult to see, but we sincerely wonder if they will really be beautiful. Or is an above-average creative paste artist trying to fool us? The headlight units are only visually modified on the inside; the LED strips seem to run slightly differently. A modified grille completes the facelift plate.

At the rear, the prominent perforated elevations in the lower bumper stand out. They indicate other outlets and a similarly adapted diffuser.

Modern infotainment Jaguar F-Pace

Inside, the updated F-Pace has the same changes as the facelifted Jaguar XE. We are talking in particular about an upgraded infotainment system. Furthermore, the combination possibilities of the powertrain are likely to be cut, so that the delivery program becomes clearer. Subsequently, the Jaguar F-Pace can again compete with cars such as the BMW X5, the Mercedes GLC and GLE, the Porsche Macan and the Audi Q5.
