TOP 8: Recycled Car Projects - A Waste To Throw Away!

Recycled Car Projects: Everything for designers has a way of improving, including several cars that have been recycled. They have been so well rebuilt that they look even like other cars. Check out the comparisons below!

1. Audi Quartz Concept (1981) - Alfa Romeo GTV (1994)

This may not be as clear as the other examples on this page, but the Audi Quartz Concept was indeed a precursor to the Alfa Romeo GTV. Just look at the body shape, the deep line on the sides and the four round headlights. Both models are manufactured by Pininfarina designer Enrico Fumia. The Quartz Concept was not officially an Audi, but a Pininfarina birthday gift for the 75-year-old Swiss magazine Automobil Revue.

2. Bertone Pirana (1967) - Lamborghini Sword (1968)

Designer Marcello Gandini designed Bertone Pirana not for Jaguar, but for the Daily Telegraph. The newspaper's editors put an idea on paper for an 'ideal car', which had to debut at the London Motor Show in 1967. Bertone bought the chassis of a Jaguar E-Type and drew a body around it that would later return to the car. Lamborghini Sword in extensive form. Funny detail: The show car says 'Piranha', while the official name is Pirana.

3. BMC 1800 Aerodynamic Sedan (1967) - Citroën CX (1974)

The BMC 1800 Berlina Aerodynamic has not been strictly reused. Robert Opron - the French design legend who named Citroën - was impressed by the British test balloon and hid nothing. He was inspired by BMC for the shape of Citroën GS and CX. Did the British do anything with the 1800 Aerodynamic Sedan? Yes If you look closely, there is something to be found in the Rover SD1.

4. Lamborghini P132 (1985) - Cizeta-Moroder V16T (1991)

In the 1980s Lamborghini was in the hands of brothers Jean Claude and Patrick Mimran, under whose leadership a successor to Countach was initiated. The P132 prototype - designed by Marcello Gandini - received little appreciation from Chrysler, which took over Lamborghini in 1987. The American company called in its own styling department to make Diablo 'rounder'. Gandini was disappointed and recycled his original for the Cizeta-Moroder V16T.

5. Fiat Lucciola Concept (1993) - Daewoo Matiz (1998)

The Lucciola Concept was an ode to the Italdesign Giugiaro on the Fiat 500 and had advanced technology on board. In front of the study model was a small two-cylinder cylinder that served as a range extender for the electric power train. Fiat saw nothing in the Lucciola concept, so Italdesign Giugiaro took the lead in design. Daewoo, a Korean company, took a bite and bought the Hue design.

6. Matra Concept P17 (1979) - Renault Espace (1984)

Renault Espace's original design comes from British Fergus Pollock, employed at Chrysler UK in the 1970s. The British-American manufacturer wanted to market MPV as Talbot, but that plan failed when Chrysler Europe was bought for a symbolic dollar by PSA Peugeot. Citroen The French auto giant did not like the model and gave the design to Matra, who went to Renault with the P17 Concept. And the rest is history.

7. Volvo Tundra Concept (1979) - Citroen BX (1982)

Marcello Gandini - there he is again - hired by Volvo to draft a possible successor to the 340. The Swedish brand found its creation very frivolous and kindly thanked it. So when Citroën was embarrassed by a GS successor, Gandini combined his Reliant FW11 Concept (1977) with the Volvo Tundra Concept to get to the BX. By the time the latter went out of production in 1994, its basic design was already fifteen years old.

8. Jaguar Kensington (1990) - Daewoo Leganza (1997)

Would they have made a 'two pay one' deal with Daewoo on Italdesign Giugiaro? Because this Jaguar Kensington also moved to South Korea and entered the market years later as a slightly smaller Daewoo Leganza, of course with a completely different nose. The story goes that the first Lexus GS - also signed by Italdesign Giugiaro - is also an evolution of Kensington. Recycled Car Projects.
